Alle seinen staan op groen om de positie van Nederland als koploper op het gebied van smart mobility verder uit te bouwen. Dat zei minister Cora van Nieuwenhuizen (Infrastructuur en Waterstaat) donderdag bij de opening van de Vakbeurs Mobiliteit in Houten. De minister opende de vakbeurs vanaf het eigen IenW-paviljoen en liet zich aansluitend op de beursvloer uitvoerig informeren.

Het reduceren van zoekverkeer op zoek naar parkeerplaatsen in een stad kan een enorme impact hebben op de omstandigheden in een binnenstad. Maar hoe zorg je ervoor dat reisinformatiediensten over de juiste informatie beschikken? Daarvoor is een centrale en zo volledig mogelijke registratie van groot belang. Ron Peerenboom van het ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat gaat in op de stand van zaken en de uitdagingen voor de toekomst.

Logistieke data, voertuigdata en gegevens van verkeerssystemen aan elkaar koppelen om de efficiency van het vrachtverkeer te verbeteren. Dat is de kern van Talking Logistics. Programmamanager Caspar de Jonge van het ministerie van Infrastructuur en Waterstaat bespreekt de stand van zaken.

Today at the Building Business Capabilities Conference, the Steering Committee for the first annual Business Rules Excellence Awards (BREA), announced that Dutch Road Authorities, The Netherlands, nominated by Lab for Intelligent Business Rules Technology, is among the 2018 winners.

The paper by Paul Potters of Monotch, partner of the Talking Traffic Partnership, was selected as the winner of the Best Technical Paper Award (EMEA region) of the 25th ITS World Congress that took place from 17-21 September 2018 in Copenhagen. The paper is about TLEX (Traffic Light Exchange) as a central point for automated real-time data exchange between intelligent traffic control systems, intelligent Traffic Light Controllers and road users. Potters received the award during the congress’ closing ceremony on Friday 21 September.

The Talking Traffic Partnership is welcoming two new associate partners: Mobidot and FLIR. Mobidot is a young medium-sized enterprise from Enschede that specialises in measuring and analysing the behaviour of travellers by means of smart phones. Mobidot uses personal travel profiles to provide travellers with customised advice about their journey, and to reward them for their smart travel choice. “We are interested in learning how we can improve the services to our users together with other parties in the Talking Traffic Partnership”, says director Marcel Bijlsma. FLIR-ITS (Belgium office) collects traffic data by means of advanced cameras in traffic lights, for example, and according to Lode Caenepeel this enables the supply of interesting data that contributes to ‘freer-flowing and safer traffic’.
